Description of this article
Hawaiian Telcom is committed to the communities we serve and is currently taking precautions to minimize the impact from Hurricane Douglas. If the effects of Hurricane Douglas become severe, we encourage all customers to keep non-essential calls to a minimum ensuring lines remain open for emergency purposes. If high winds cause Hawaiian Telcom cables to fall, service may not be impacted unless the cables are severed. For your safety, avoid downed lines as they could be active power (electric) lines that are potentially dangerous to touch. Moving them could also hamper restoration efforts. Report any fallen utility poles or cables immediately to our 24-Hour Customer Service Center at 643-6111 or online at hawaiiantel.com/supportform. Please keep in mind that many of our products and services require electricity to operate, therefore if power is lost, you won’t have access to your services until the power is restored. Below you’ll find links to information about how to get your service at home up and running quickly once the power comes back on:
Business Phone Line customers have up to 8 hours of battery backup. Click here for information on how to monitor your battery backup system. Hosted Voice Customers: Network equipment is supported by a UPS that protects against power surges and brownout conditions only. Hosted Voice users can enable Broadworks Anywhere to direct incoming business calls to mobile or fixed lines. Hosted UC Customers can continue to receive incoming calls on WiFi or LTE enabled devices. Please remain safe over the next few days.
